Why Do Leaves Change Colors Unit

This unit runs for ten lessons across two weeks, roughly 30 to 45 minutes each. Every lesson has
three parts: a short reading you do together, a hands-on activity, and a one-page activity sheet
your child completes afterward. The lesson order matters, because each idea builds on the one
before it - so work through the lessons in sequence even if you spread them across more than
two weeks.
You do not need a science background. Each lesson page tells you the big idea in one sentence,
lists the materials you will need, and gives you the questions to ask. The activity sheets are
designed to be done independently by a child in this age range, with you nearby to help read or
write if needed.
